About this opportunity:

• Assist with the financial modelling for budgeting and re-forecasting cycles
• Develop financial and analytical models to support decision-making for projects
• Extract, analyse, and provide advice on data from financial management systems for use in financial models
• Contribute to the capital planning phase of forecasting, planning and budgeting cycles
• Undertaking pre-project analysis for major expenditure requests before approval to ensure compliance with capital guidelines and budget funding
• Monitoring, analysing and reporting on capital expenditure programs and major projects
• Conduct a cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the impact of profitability improvement initiatives
• Develop monthly performance reports, analyse drivers of cost movement against forecast and budget
• Participate and support the delivery of rolling monthly forecasts, re-forecasts, and annual budgeting in close consultation with Managers and stakeholders.
• Support the Business Intelligence reporting in accordance with guidance from the Director of Finance – Strategy and Planning

You will bring:

• A minimum 4 years financial experience (big 4 preferred), and retail sector experience a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• CPA or CA qualified or near completion, preferred but not essential
• Advanced working knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Suite Excel, including the ability to utilise complex formulae to build efficient and flexible models/reports
• Working knowledge and experience using Adaptive Insights, preferred but not essential
• Proactive attitude, takes initiative, and always looking for opportunities to add value
• Analytical ability and appetite for problem-solving
• Ability to present and explain complex data to key stakeholders and use clear and concise language
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail and responds appropriately under time and pressure situations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage priorities and deliver results to deadlines
• Broad skill set in financial, management accounting and finance business partnering
• Organisational skills to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
