Join icon fashion house Aje as Junior Product Developer - Accessories at our Aje Head Office in Redfern.

The Junior Product Developer will work collaboratively across design, production, and merchandising teams to deliver high-quality, innovative, and commercially viable accessories collections that align with the brand's creative vision and business objectives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Ensure all development deadlines are met by adhering to the critical path and prioritizing tasks under the guidance of the Design Room Manager.
  • Support fabric, trims, and hardware sourcing, ensuring that design, quality, price, and sustainability goals are achieved.
  • Responsible for all inbound and outbound parcel management, organising swatches, hardware and libraries
  • Support the designer & developer on the creation and accuracy of tech packs, including BOMs, and maintain them through the development cycle until production handover.
  • Assist with colour standards, print, and embroidery development, from initial concept to production approval.
  • Maintain seasonal sampling trackers and costing spreadsheets, ensuring the timely delivery of prototypes and SMS (Salesman Samples).
  • Ensure all sketch boards, linesheets are updated after each ranging/ meeting with accuracy.
  • Uploading of data to AP21 for seasonal collections
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure timely completion of CADs.
  • Assist in negotiating prices with suppliers to achieve target margins.
  • Proactively manage potential quality issues, driving timely resolutions.

 

 

REQUIRED AND DESIRED SKILLS 

  • 1-2 years of experience in product development, preferably in accessories.
  • Strong understanding of accessories design, material sourcing, and production techniques.
  • Experience creating and maintaining detailed tech packs.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and ensure timelines are met.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator for CAD development.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator for creating CADs.
  • Understanding of materials and construction techniques specific to accessories (e.g., leather, hardware, and embellishments).
  • Experience in working with suppliers and manufacturers, preferably offshore. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively.
  • A creative thinker with an eye for luxury quality and craftsmanship.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
