Join icon fashion house Aje as a Head of Planning. This is an exciting opportunity to join Aje Collective in an 18 month Parental leave contract role. In this role, the Head of Planning will drive and execute the Aje merchandising strategy, playing a key role in shaping the planning function, and supporting the merchandise and buying team to create the seasonal product, inventory, and allocation strategy. You will work to uphold the Aje vision and brand guidelines and will achieve financial, profit, and stock targets.

 

About this opportunity:

  • A highly detail oriented, strategic role. Working closely with all commercial streams of the business, we are searching for an agile, commercially savvy merchant that can build relationships and drive outcomes. 
  • Responsible for the management of category OTB on a seasonal basis, which includes but is not limited to subcategory sales and stock management, range, and option planning.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining planning forecast tools including the WSSI, proactive approach to managing in-season OTB, sales forecasting, and identifying inventory risk and opportunity.
  • Responsible for effective planning and analysis including in-season and post-season analysis SWOT. 
  • Responsible for developing and implementing seasonal sub-category plans and inventory turn plans that support major growth targets for the company at the key market category and key item levels, ensuring retail and online mixes are planned separately. 
  • Identify market opportunities to drive sales and margin, and adhere to stock targets, determining opportunities and risks by category as well as factoring for any upcoming promotional activity. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and executing core forecasting – providing production with reorders. 
  • Responsible for providing size curve analysis for new and re-orders. 
  • Responsible for supporting buying with product analysis including, sell-thru, productivity, and re-order suggestions. 
  • Collaborate with the buying and eCommerce team on the overall promotional pricing of products based on forecasted sales and margin impact as well as stock position. 
  • Terminal stock management 
  • Responsible for ensuring delivery dates are up to date on system by subcategory to ensure forward intake is accurate for MFP. 
  • Responsible for holding monthly merchandise and category projection meetings with the buying team.
  • Work closely with the logistics and operations team on sales forecasts impacting shipping planning.
  • Responsible for analysing and providing allocation recommendations to trade the business. 
  • Create brand and category level hindsight reports to drive strategic assortment decisions for future quarters and in-season management. 
  • Responsible for supporting the Executive team to ensure bricks and mortar options in stores are at optimum capacity at all times (adhering to brand vision). 
  • Accountable for product life cycle including consolidation, product movement, transfers and exit strategy to maximise KPIs through business approved aged inventory leavers. 
  • Accountable for the management of data integrity (inventory and merchandise) across the department.
  • Responsible for training and developing junior team members.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed merchandise KPIs, including sales, margin, and inventory targets.
  • International Experience is highly desired
  • Strong trade planning and forecasting expertise to identify strategic growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros) and competence with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI).
  • Analytical and problem-solving acumen to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable strategies.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy to ensure robust planning and reporting.
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on balancing commercial objectives and operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear and concise communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and present insights confidently.
  • Resilient and adaptable, navigating challenges and driving results under pressure.
  • Collaborative and flexible mindset, working seamlessly across cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
