Join icon fashion house Aje as Payroll Officer at our Aje Head Office in Redfern.
About this opportunity:
- Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll for 500+ staff across Australia and New Zealand.
- Resolve complex payroll issues, escalating when necessary.
- Calculate terminations, and redundancy payments, and assist with workers' compensation claims.
- Maintain accurate employee data in payroll/HR systems, ensuring appropriate permissions, access, and reporting lines.
- Support internal and external payroll payments, including superannuation, PAYG, and payroll tax.
- Handle onboarding and termination processes for employees.
- Set up new starters and provide administrative support.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related Award and Enterprise Agreement requirements.
- Collaborate with the People and Culture team on staff movement and systems support.
- Provide administrative support for system optimizations and ongoing projects.
- Generate fortnightly reports and perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
- Assist in calculation of termination benefits
- Assist in ensuring the ATO and Superannuation payments are paid within the required time frames
- Interpretation and application of General Retail Industry Award
- Assist in optimization of payroll workflows
- Assist with payroll projects and implementation of systems
You will bring:
- A minimum of 2 years' demonstrated experience in a similar payroll role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of the General Retail Industry Award.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and HR administration tools. Experience with ELMO or Dayforce is favourable but not required.
