About this opportunity:

  • Assist in the management of the product development process of various categories according to the brand standards for design, quality, fit, sustainability, pricing structure and margins.
  • Accountable for ensuring all development deadlines are met and in adherence with the critical path, prioritising workflow under the guidance of the Design & Development Manager
  • Responsible for fabric and trims sourcing and developments that meet design, quality, sustainability, price, margin targets and goals.
  • Oversee colour standards, prints and embroidery developments from initial stage through to production sign off.
  • Create and maintain the seasonal sampling tracker/costing spreadsheet and update cross functional teams on protos and SMS delivery dates.
  • Work alongside the Senior Product Developer on factory allocations to build a coherent and balanced manufacturing structure.
  • Unpacking of boxes, checking in sample management and liasing with our supply chain to ensure all samples are arriving to hit deadlines.
  • Responsible for nurturing a respectful and positive relationship with Aje suppliers, while introducing new suppliers when required to improve profitability and growth/expansion into new product categories.
  • Working closely with our garment technicians to help create quality, fit and finish consistency for the products.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers to ensure target margins are achieved and improved upon, being proactive in reporting any potential costing issues to Designers and Design Room Manager, along with recommendations for alternative solutions that fulfill both creative and commercial needs.
  • Proactive management of potential quality issues or risks at all stages and drive resolution.
  • Responsible for clear and complete handover of the whole collection to the production team in line with critical path dates.
  • Management of development and sampling budgets across all categories under guidance of Design room manager.

You will bring:

  • 3 years’ experience specialising in development
  • Highly Proficient in Excel 
  • Experience and extensive understanding of creating tech packs
  • Strong technical knowledge of fit, pattern making and construction across woven and knitwear.
  • Experience with adobe illustrator to make CADS
  • Exceptional understanding of fabric and garment construction techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • A proven track record working with offshore manufacturing and technical management of suppliers
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and timelines and ensure deadlines are met
