Join icon fashion house Aje as a Garment Technician Manager at our Aje Head Office in Surry Hills.

About this opportunity:

Team Management 

• Work closely with Production Manager and Design Room Manager to ensure seasonal timelines for all items in development is maintained according to company wide critical path
• Seamlessly lead and manage a team of garment techs across our Aje brand.
• Provide a weekly update for the Design and Production Garment tech workload, manage the weekly workload for all garment techs in accordance with critical path. 
• Management of all development and production samples, ensuring potential issues or concerns are communicated to key stakeholders in a timely manner 
• Work closely with design, buying/planning team to ensure quality products are delivered and product price points are in line with the company expectations and parameters 

Product

• Manage garment creation and execution throughout the entire lifecycle of product, ranging across Proto samples, Salesman samples, Pre Production samples and Shipment samples. 
• Work alongside Design, Product Development and Production departments to ensure all technical specs are clear and any measurement requests are consistent with the standard measurements.
• Request, inspect and assess all sample types in accordance with critical path. Flag any issues that could impact delivery with design or production.
• Plan and organize fit meetings including booking models, sending diary invites. 
• Measure all samples to ensure they conform to size specifications before fitting. 

QC – Testing Standards and Requirements

• Apply fabrication testing standards and requirements to all product required 
• manage sample or fabric testing where necessary through laboratories or inhouse testing 
• Report on quality and faults of each season in development and production, detailing each factory performance against target expectations. 
• In conjunction with Production Manager, Manage the physical QC on delivered product where necessary with final report to production and logistics team 
• Assess any consumer and wholesale returns and ensure any recurring issues are addressed. 

You will bring:

• Contemporary or luxury fashion experience is essential.
• Minimum 8-10 years’ experience specializing in women’s High end fashion, Active and Athleisure Wear, soft separates, denim, leather,  cut and sew, active wear, swimwear and Children’s wear within a contemporary or luxury fashion capacity
• Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment alongside other the wider design and production teams. 
• Ability to understand urgencies and work towards Critical path key dates.
• Ability to fit and execute to Gold Seal standard.
• High Level Senior working knowledge of pattern making and manufacturing. 
• Excellent fabric knowledge encompassing woven and jersey from delicate to structured fabric bases, technical components and sewing machines.
